Griffith Dudding, Ph.D., will deliver the commencement address to graduates of the Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 4. Dudding is currently an independent training consultant for Rudis Group International, which works under contract with the Institute of International Education, designing and conducting management training in Egypt. Long affiliated with Muhlenberg College, he served as assistant professor of English from 1962-1972, earning the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching in 1968. Since 1979, Dudding has served in adjunct faculty positions teaching contemporary fiction, modern poetry and modern American fiction. In 1998-99, he was director of the evening college human resources studies program, designing curriculum and hiring staff for an accelerated degree program for adult students. His experience in higher education includes five years at Lehigh County Community College (now Lehigh Carbon Community College), where he was coordinator of services for the aging and then director of adult education and community services. In the mid-1990s, Dudding served as manager of technical training services for the non-nuclear workforce at Pennsylvania Power and Light Company in Allentown, where he began his international training and consulting in India, the Philippines and Egypt. He has developed training programs and analyzed certification programs for Nuclear Quality Assurance. Dudding earned his bachelor's degree in English from Moravian College, and his master's and doctoral degrees in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
