Muhlenberg Student Receives Scholarship For Study In Scotland

Christine Davies, a Muhlenberg College sophomore majoring in religion, has received an undergraduate scholarship from the St. Andrew’s Society of Philadelphia for study abroad during her junior year at St. Andrew’s University in Scotland. Her study will be on John Knox.

Christine Davies, a Muhlenberg College sophomore majoring in religion, has received an undergraduate scholarship from the St. Andrew’s Society of Philadelphia for study abroad during her junior year at St. Andrew’s University in Scotland. Her study will be on John Knox.

Each scholarship for full academic year 2003-2004 is valued from $12,000-$15,000. Muhlenberg College is one of 19 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area invited to nominate one candidate. Candidates for the scholarship must be full time registered students, in the top quarter of the class, and United States citizens. Students are selected on criteria including academic achievement, faculty recommendations and a personal essay.

Davies is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Davies, of Fair Lawn, N.J.

Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg is a highly selective liberal arts college in Allentown, Pa. It is an independent, undergraduate, co-educational institution related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
