Alix Olson, touring folk poet and spoken word artist, will perform at Muhlenberg College, Monday, October 27, 7 p.m., in Miller Forum, Moyer Hall. Suggested donation is $5. The show is open to the public. Alix Olson has performed nationally and internationally at hundreds of colleges, clubs and festivals. She has been heard on national radio stations and featured in publications, as well as on the covers of Lambda Book Report and Ms. Magazine. She has shared the stage with Michael Moore, Pete Seeger, Christine Lavin, Catie Curtis, Ntozake Shange, Leslie Feinberg, Alix Dobkin, and many others. This year, audiences nationwide are experiencing a unique performance during Olson's yearlong tour to launch her second album, "Independence Meal," released in May. Howard Zinn, author of "The People's History of the United States," calls Alix "an ingenious poet, a brilliant performer, a funny person, and serious thinker. She is, quite simply, extraordinary."
