Muhlenberg College is proud to announce that 12 students have been inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honors society. Justin Deutsch '04, Erin DeVaney '04, Nathan Horst '04, Lauren Jacobs '04, Melissa Kahn '05, Jonathan Kerber '04, Bethanne Luzzi '04, Adam Montgomery '04, Elizabeth Pelberg '05, Elizabeth Rolando '05, David Torsiello '05, and Jessica Walsh '05 were inducted at a ceremony on Saturday, November 8.

Phi Alpha Theta established its first chapter at the University of Arkansas on March 17, 1921, and has now grown to have over 800 chapters, more than any other accredited four-year college honor society. The Muhlenberg chapter was granted a charter by the national honor society more than 75 years ago. Today the chapter has weekly discussions, social and educational gatherings, and in past years students have presented papers at Phi Alpha Theta conferences. To qualify for membership, undergraduate students must complete four history courses with a GPA of at least 3.1 in history, have an overall GPA of at least 3.0, and be in the top 35% of their class. Membership is not limited to history majors.

Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg College is a highly selective liberal arts college in Allentown, Pa.
