On April 6-7, three Israeli college students will visit Muhlenberg College as part of the program “Israel at Heart.” During their visit, the Israeli students will talk openly, informally and genuinely with Muhlenberg students regarding issues such as terrorism and education. Activities will include worship services, bowling, youth group meetings and a pizza party. “Israeli at Heart” affords the leaders of tomorrow the opportunity to interact and enjoy heart-to-heart discussions concerning the lives of an Israeli. Students are provided with the chance to explore issues such as the constant threat of terrorism, why Israeli students remain in their homes despite these threats, and how much of normal college life exists contrarily to that which Americans observe on the nightly news. This program, which offers no political agenda, supports open communication among students, and aims to enlighten future American leaders as to the struggle their Israeli counterparts currently are enduring.
