The Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College met with great success last week in the local level of the nation’s largest advertising competition, the ADDY Awards. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the ADDY Awards is the first level of a three-tiered national competition that recognizes excellence and upholds the most extensive of creative standards within the advertising industry. Molly Brown, marketing director, and Chris Friedenberg, independent art director, accepted the awards on behalf of the Wescoe School.

The Wescoe School’s advertising campaigns received three medals, including a gold award in the “Logo” category. In accordance with the standard rules of the competition, this winning logo will be automatically forwarded to the district ADDY Awards competition. Should the Wescoe School logo achieve gold or silver status in this second level of the competition, it will automatically be entered in the final round of competition.

Also proving successful at this year’s ADDY Awards were the Wescoe School’s “Corporate Leaders Ad Campaign,” which won a silver in the “newspaper campaign, black and white” category, and the “Grow Your Mind Bookmark” promotion, which received a bronze award in the “specialty advertising” category.

Receiving over 60,000 entries, the ADDY Awards is a national competition of both size and prestige. The results of the district competition have yet to be released.
