Day Of Dialogue: Life Is A Journey Shaped By Its Ends

Muhlenberg's Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding (IJCU) will present its 11 th annual Day of Dialogue, Sunday, May 23, 2-6 p.m. at Congregation Brith Sholom, 1190 West Macada Road, Bethlehem, Pa. The theme of the day will be “Life is a Journey Shaped by its Ends.”

Professor Randi Rashkover, assistant professor of religious studies at York College of Pennsylvania, will give the keynote presentation. Rashkover is co-director of the Children of Abraham Institute, and her research interests include issues in Jewish and Christian theology and Jewish feminist thought. Dr. Rashkover has published numerous articles in leading journals including the Journal of Jewish Thought and Philosophy, the Journal of Religious Ethics, and the Journal of Cultural and Religious Thought.

Rashkover's address will provide grist for interfaith discussion facilitated by skilled leaders from the local community. In addition, three panelists will respond to the keynote presentation and take part in an open discussion with participants. Panelists include: Ibrahim Anthony, member of the Al-Ahad Islamic Center; Melissa Klein, a student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia; and Dr. Gabriel Rochelle, a sub-deacon at St. Paul Orthodox Church in Emmaus.

The cost of the workshop is $35 in advance or $45 at the door. Four hours of Continuing Education credit (0.4 CEU) is available with advance registration for a total of $40. IJCU members are welcome to use a program discount coupon in partial payment. Hot and cold beverages and halal/kosher snacks will be available throughout the afternoon.
