Healthcare Professionals Lead Panel Discussion At Muhlenberg College

A panel of healthcare professionals from the Lehigh Valley will lead a discussion at Muhlenberg College on issues such as medical liability, healthcare accessibility, physician responsibilities and patients’ rights.

A panel of healthcare professionals from the Lehigh Valley will lead a discussion at Muhlenberg College on issues such as medical liability, healthcare accessibility, physician responsibilities and patients’ rights. This event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, November 9 at 7 p.m. in the Miller Forum, Moyer Hall.

The panel will include: Phil Hof, Esq., Attorney and Partner at Laub, Siedel, Cohen, Hof, & Reid, Easton; Dr. Mary Elizabeth Roth, M.D., FACPE, Vice President, Medical Affairs, Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown; Dr. Larry Glazerman, M.D., Physician/ObGyn, Trexlertown; Donna Rovito, Physician and Patient Rights Activist, PA Medical Society Alliance; and Barbara Stadter, R.N. Director, Allentown Health Bureau, Allentown.

The panel will discuss the overall state of healthcare in Pennsylvania and how it impacts equity, access, and individual rights. The panel will also look at the ethical implications involved in healthcare issues and how they impact various interest groups, as well as individual citizens. Questions from the audience will follow the discussion from the panel of experts.

This event is sponsored by the Muhlenberg College Center for Ethics as the final part of a semester-long series of events entitled Disease: Representation, Research and Rights. Through interactive programming, presentations, and classroom activities, the Center encourages investigation of social practices in the local college community, as American citizens, and across diverse cultures.
