Sally Helgesen will discuss "Women's Leadership in the New Economy" in the third annual Danielle Dionne Guerin Memorial Lecture in Women's Studies at Muhlenberg College, Tuesday, March 30, 7:30 p.m., in Miller Forum, Moyer Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Helgesen is an author, speaker and consultant with expertise in the pivotal role of women in the new economy. Author of "The Female Advantage: Women's Ways of Leadership," widely hailed as "the classic work" on women's management styles, Helgesen was the first to focus on what women have to contribute to organizations rather than how they need to change and adapt. Drawing on original research and wide-ranging interviews with thousands of women, she offers fresh perspectives on how women can customize their work lives in a way that reflects their needs and talents at different periods in their lives, and bring balance to their days in the process.
Helgesen has taught seminars at Harvard University, Smith College and North Central College, and consulted internationally for the United Nations. She is co-founder of The Exodus Dialogues, a group that studies the exodus of high-level women from corporations, and a member of the Learning Network. A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., she graduated from Hunter College and lives in New York City.
