Muhlenberg Announces Faculty Promotions

Muhlenberg College is pleased to announce the following faculty promotions, approved at last week's meeting of the Board of Trustees:

Anna Adams has been promoted to professor of history. Adams, who joined the Muhlenberg faculty in 1982, holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Boston University. She earned her doctorate at Temple University. Adams is the author of "Hidden from History/Escondida de la Historia: The Latino Community of Allentown, Pennsylvania" (2002).

Grant Scott has been promoted to professor of English. Scott joined the Muhlenberg faculty in 1989. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego, and earned his master's degree and doctorate at the University of California, Los Angeles. Scott is the author of "The Sculpted Word: Keats, Ekphrasis, and the Visual Arts" (1994) and the editor of "Selected Letters of John Keats" (2002), as well as the forthcoming "Joseph Severn: Letters and Memoirs."

Christine Sistare has been promoted to professor of philosophy. Sistare joined the Muhlenberg faculty in 1989 and is co-director of the philosophy/political thought program. She holds a bachelor's degree from Connecticut College and master's and doctoral degrees from Emory University. Sistare is the author of five books, including "Groups and Group Rights" (2001), with L. May and L. Francis, and the forthcoming "Civility and Its Discontents."
