Muhlenberg College's chemistry department hosted the National Chemistry Olympiad for the Lehigh Valley section of the American Chemical Society on Friday, April 16.
Five area high school students participated in Friday's exam: Peter Fidkowski and Stuart Glaser, Emmaus High School; Nate George, Fleetwood Area High School; and John-Carl Brew and Kady Liang, Moravian Academy. They were competing to be chosen for an International Chemistry Olympiad team.
These five students were selected from 62 students who took the Local section Olympiad exam at Muhlenberg College on March 20. The coordinator is Dr. Marion Smith, assistant professor of chemistry at Muhlenberg.
