On Monday, December 6, 2004, a group of Muhlenberg College students will run a public health campaign on campus hoping to raise the community awareness on the problem of binge drinking.

Students participating in the College’s Health Communication class will present information on binge drinking to any interested students, faculty, staff or members of the community. The public health campaign will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Seegers Union. A video the students put together to raise people’s awareness of binge drinking will play continuously during this time. The students will also present information they have acquired about binge drinking, including the definition, the short-term and long-term consequences and the frequency of binge drinking among peers. Students will hand out teal ribbons, the symbol for alcohol awareness, during this time as well.

This public health campaign is sponsored by the Muhlenberg College Department of Communication and Giant Grocery Store. If you have any questions, please contact Chelsea Gomez at f[email protected] or 484-664-4148.
