Muhlenberg College will host the Ten Thousand Villages Fair Trade Market, December 1 and 2, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., in Seegers 108 – 109, featuring exquisite, handcrafted gifts and home décor and items made by artisans worldwide. This is the second year that Muhlenberg College will sponsor the event, which pays artisans a fair wage for their work.

For 58 years, Ten Thousand Villages has worked with talented artisans around the world, providing vital, fair income for their beautiful handcrafted items. The Muhlenberg-hosted sale gives Lehigh Valley residents a chance to help artisans around the world feed, clothe and educate themselves and their families.

The craft items on sale will include jewelry, Christmas ornaments, children’s toys and many other items, such as palm leaf streamers made by women in Vellore, India. Student performances and a fair trade coffee sale in connection with the Fair Trade Market will be going on. The sale is organized and managed by volunteers.
