Muhlenberg College's Institute of Public Opinion will host "Read My Lipz," a two-hour public forum and campaign-ad tracking experiment, Wednesday, May 5, 1-3 p.m., in Miller Forum, Moyer Hall. In addition to a panel of experts, forum attendees will be introduced to a new political ad tracking system and have the chance to be part of a live, real-time automated response system that tracks and monitors national perceptions of the 2004 Presidential campaign election ads.

The Internet broadcast series features a live, real-time, automated response system that tracks and monitors perceptions of a large nationwide panel of viewers of the 2004 presidential campaign election ads. The Web will play an integral role in this year's presidential election, as 60 percent of American families are online at home. Because campaign broadcast regulations do not apply to Web-based commercials, online ads will be hotly debated this year as both candidates take advantage of Internet accessibility and speed.

Experts on hand will be Dr. Christopher Borick, associate professor of political science and director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion; Dr. Arthur J. Kover, management fellow, Yale School of Management, and former editor, The Journal of Advertising Research; and Glenn Kessler, co-founder and managing partner, HCD Research. All three will monitor the project and respond to the results.
