Muhlenberg Student Receives Scholarship For Study In Scotland

Megan O'Donnell, a Muhlenberg College sophomore majoring in political science and theatre arts, has received an undergraduate scholarship from the St. Andrew's Society of Philadelphia for study abroad during her junior year at Edinburgh University in Scotland.

Megan O'Donnell, a Muhlenberg College sophomore majoring in political science and theatre arts, has received an undergraduate scholarship from the St. Andrew's Society of Philadelphia for study abroad during her junior year at Edinburgh University in Scotland.

Each scholarship for full academic year 2004-2005 is valued from $12,000-$15,000. Muhlenberg College is one of 19 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area invited to nominate one candidate. Candidates for the scholarship must be full-time registered students, in the top quarter of the class, and United States citizens. Five students are selected on criteria including academic achievement, faculty recommendations and a personal essay. O'Donnell is the second Muhlenberg student in two years to be selected as a St. Andrew's Scholar; currently, Christine Davies '05 is studying at St. Andrews University.

O'Donnell is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James O'Donnell of Scotia, N.Y. Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg is a highly selective liberal arts college in Allentown, Pa. It is an independent, undergraduate, co-educational institution related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
