Muhlenberg Wind Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, And Percussion Ensemble Set To Perform

The Muhlenberg College Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Albert Neumeyer, will perform a concert of symphonic band music on Friday, April 23, 8 p.m., in the Empie Theatre, Baker Center for the Arts.

The Muhlenberg College Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Albert Neumeyer, will perform a concert of symphonic band music on Friday, April 23, 8 p.m., in the Empie Theatre, Baker Center for the Arts. The Muhlenberg Chamber Orchestra and Percussion Ensemble will perform the following night, Saturday, April 24, 8 p.m., in the Empie Theatre.

Featured in the Wind Ensemble's performance will be a piece written by Gregg Rossetti '05, titled "Symphonic Poem for Band." Muhlenberg President Randy Helm will narrate the Wind Ensemble's performance of Aaron Copland's "Lincoln Portrait."

On Saturday night, the Muhlenberg Chamber Orchestra, directed by Douglas Ovens, will perform Brandenberg Concerto No.3 by J.S. Bach, Mozart's Symphony No.40 in G Minor, and Finlandia by Jean Sibelius. The Muhlenberg Percussion Ensemble will play works by Mozart, Mitchell Peters, and Alejandro Planchart.
