Richard Raymond To Give Muhlenberg's Piano Series Finale

Canadian pianist Richard Raymond returns to Muhlenberg College's Piano Series as the final performer of 2003-04, Friday, April 16, 8 p.m., in the Paul C. Empie Theatre, Baker Center for the Arts. Tickets are $20 general admission, $14 for senior citizens, and $5 for students, available through the Muhlenberg College music department, 484-664-3363.

A member of the music faculty of McGill University in Montreal, Raymond has won the Montreal International Competition and was the first Canadian artist to win the Chamber Music Prize at the Van Cliburn Competition. Raymond has performed with essentially every major orchestra in Canada, including the Toronto Symphony and the Montreal Symphony. He appeared at Muhlenberg in 2002. An intensely passionate musician, Raymond reaches the hearts and souls of listeners through his technical brilliance and virtuosity, expressing the full spectrum of human emotions.

Raymond's recital will include works by Beethoven, Schumann and Liszt and is the final performance for the Gala 20th Anniversary Season of the Muhlenberg College Piano Series.
