Skidmore To Deliver Wescoe Commencement Address

James A. Skidmore, Jr. will deliver the commencement address to graduates of the Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 11 a.m. A member of the class of 1954, Skidmore is a member of he Muhlenberg College Board of Trustees.

Skidmore is Chairman and CEO of Science Management, LLC. The company consults in the areas of management, computer and information technology worldwide. He is a board member of Horizon Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NJ and NY and has been a director of various public, private and charitable Boards: Summit and New Jersey Banks; the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of NY; Granite State Machine; Newark Brush; Mariner Communications Inc.; New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce. He is a trustee of the US Junior Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Center for the Analysis of Public Issues; The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children and The Graduate School of Management of Rutgers University.

Skidmore was invested as an Associated Officer Brother by Her Majesty, Queen of England, into the Order of St. John. He received the Society for the Advancement of Management Human Relations Award. He also received the Private Sector Initiative Commendation from President Regan. Other numerous honors include: Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen Award; Girl Scouts of America Award for Service to Humanity; and the Freedom Foundations’ George Washington Medal of Honor; International Understanding Award from Brussels, Belgium; and the Muhlenberg College Alumni Award.

The Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College provides adult learners with an opportunity to pursue lifelong education, and to do so in ways that recognize their experience, maturity, motivation, and life circumstances, and capacity for independent scholarship. It encompasses the Accelerated program, Summer Study and the liberal arts program.
