Pianist Garrick Ohlsson To Perform At Muhlenberg College

Pianist Garrick Ohlsson will perform at Muhlenberg College as a part of the Piano Series on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 8 p.m. in the Paul C. Empie Theater.

Tickets for general admission are $22 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and $10 for students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased through the College’s music department, 484-664-3363.

Ohlsson will perform works by Beethoven, Brahms, Korte and Smetana.

Since his triumph as winner of the 1970 Chopin International Piano Competition, Ohlsson has established himself worldwide as a musician of magisterial interpretive and technical prowess. Although he has long been regarded as one of the world's leading exponents of the music of Frédéric Chopin, Mr. Ohlsson commands an enormous repertoire, which ranges over the entire piano literature Mr. Ohlsson was awarded the Avery Fisher Prize in 1994 and received the 1998 University Musical Society Distinguished Artist Award in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He makes his home in San Francisco.
