Funded through the PA Campus Compact, this award makes available $2,000 course development grants for faculty interested in partnering with community groups working with at-risk children and their families.

The LVRC is a research center focusing on quality of life issues in the Lehigh Valley.  The goal of this initiative is to provide new opportunities to connect higher education faculty and students with community organizations and public school students in the region.  The collaboration between faculty and community partners will be mutually beneficial as students engage in experiential learning and organizations benefit from the students' academic training.

Participating in the endeavor are Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Moravian College and Muhlenberg College, as well as Lehigh Carbon Community College and Northampton Community College.

The LVRC will hold a faculty workshop at on November 14 at Moravian College.  Community groups interested in participating should contact the project director, Tammy Bean, at [email protected] or 610-606-4666 x3392
