The piece features 10 Muhlenberg male dancers and will be performed at Columbia University’s Miller Theatre in June.

Within the first minute of performance the men evoked shouts and cheers from the audience. The men danced as an inseparable unit and executed the movement with commitment and passion. The audience responded with standing ovations and a roar of applause. “Brilliant!” “Wow!” and “Kudos to the choreographer,” were some of the highly positive feedback given by the adjudicators.

This is the seventh consecutive year adjudicators have recognized Muhlenberg College dancers and choreographers for their excellence. Once again, our small liberal arts college has been among the few college and university dance programs selected for the regional gala concert. As if that were not enough, Muhlenberg has been selected for a third time for presentation at the National Festival.

The American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA) holds annual conferences. Established in 1973, the conferences work to promote choreographic endeavors in college and university dance programs with a sense of competition. Each school brings two works to the regional gatherings, one of which must be student-choreographed. Every dance is adjudicated by a panel of dance professionals. Each region chooses several pieces to appear at the gala concerts. Works could be choreographed by students, faculty, or guest artists. This being a national year, works are selected to perform again at the national festival, now held in New York City.
