Political Scientist Michael Parenti To Speak At Muhlenberg

Political scientist Dr. Michael Parenti will give a lecture entitled “Political Perception and Deception: How to Think about Empire” on Thursday, February 7 at 7 p.m. in Miller Forum, Moyer Hall.

Parenti is one of the nation’s most progressive political analysts and holds a Ph.D. from Yale University. In addition to being a renowned lecturer, Parenti is also an internationally known writer. He has authored twenty books and 275 articles.  Some of his most recent publications include: Contrary Notions: The Michael Parenti Reader (2007), Democracy for the Few (now in its 8th edition), The Culture Struggle (2006), and Superpatriotism (2004).
           
Parenti currently sits on the board of judges for Project Censored in addition to positions on advisory boards for the Independent Progressive Politics Network, Education Without Borders, and the Jasenovic Foundation. He also serves on the editorial boards for New Political Science and Nature, Society and Thought.
