Trexler Library Celebrates its 20th Anniversary

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Muhlenberg College’s Trexler Library.

 Tuesday, October 21, 2008 11:22 AM

The celebration, entitled “Trexler Library: Then, Now and Into the Future,” officially kicked off on Sunday, October 19.

Built in 1988, the Harry C. Trexler Library houses the College's primary collection of information resources including books, journals, videotapes, government documents and electronic databases. The collection of approximately 200,000 books, 140,000 U.S. government documents, 4,400 audio-visual items (including 2,700 film and video titles) and 800 journal subscriptions meets the general instruction and research needs of undergraduate students.

Open 108 hours per week with additional hours provided during exam periods, Trexler Library offers a modern facility combined with varieties of seating and study space to meet the needs of individual and group work. Automated reserve services make available course-related readings. A program of course-integrated instruction pairs librarians with instructors to combine information-gathering and evaluating skills into the curriculum with the goal of making Muhlenberg students information literate.
