Faculty Member Receives Fulbright-Nehru Grant

Clif Kussmaul, associate professor of computer science, has received a Fulbright-Nehru grant to spend Fall 2009 at the University of Kerala, in Thiruvananthapuram, India.

He will teach graduate courses and collaborate with researchers in computer science and the Centre for Bioinformatics, and with industry colleagues at the TechnoPark.

The Fulbright Program was established by the United States Congress in 1946 to promote "international goodwill through the exchange of students in the fields of education, culture, and science."  Now six decades old, it remains the U.S. Government's most prestigious scholarship program, operating in 155 countries.  Since its signing on February 2, 1950, more than 9,800 Americans have come to India and 5,000 Indians have traveled to the United States as Fulbright scholars.
