The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The panel consists of four Lehigh Valley experts in nonprofit organizations who will talk about their fields of expertise. Deborah Hepburn, Ecumenical Director, Lehigh County Conference of Churches; and Dr. Lona M. Farr, Principal, Farr Healey Consulting.

The discussion will take place among panelists as well as between panelists and the audience.  It will feature conversations on nonprofit action in a challenging economic environment: What is the state of the nonprofit fields in 2009? How are donors, consumers, and volunteers responding? Amidst all the difficulties, what new opportunities are emerging for nonprofits? What leadership skills are most vital to success? How can students entering the job market compete successfully for jobs in nonprofit organizations?

This program is presented by the Muhlenberg College Department of Accounting, Business, and Economics, with assistance from Muhlenberg College Lectures and Forums Committee, the Career Center, the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement, and the Business and Economics Club.
