The Galleria in the Baker Center for the Arts at Muhlenberg College proudly presents The Art of Magic: Props, Portraits, Posters & Performance, March 9 – April 3, 2009.

The opening reception is Friday, March 20, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. 

At the heart of The Art of Magic exhibitarepropsand posters from the collection of Marc DeSouza, internationally recognized magician and author.  DeSouza’s collection features posters and objects of magic that span many decades and several continents.  The multi-media exhibit also includes historical and contemporary video footage of magicians as they perform—in some cases with the props on display—an assortment of magic tricks and routines.

In addition to props, posters and video performances, the exhibit includes a series of  photographic portraits of  magicians by Candace Dobro, an alumna of Muhlenberg and curator of the exhibit.
