Thies named player of the week

Senior Kayleigh Thies of the Muhlenberg field hockey team was named Centennial Conference player of the week for the third time in her career.

Thies scored three goals for her first career hat trick in the Mules’ first CC win of the season, 5-2 against Johns Hopkins. Thies scored the second, third and fourth goals as Muhlenberg posted its highest goal total ever against the Blue Jays.

For the season, Thies leads the Mules and is tied for 10th in the CC with 12 points.

The three goals against Hopkins moved Thies into a tie for sixth place on Muhlenberg’s all-time list with 32 for her career. She is fifth with 85 points, just three awat from third place.
