Theatre alum Fiona McGrath ’22 is the founder of the Los Angeles Theatre Initiative, a touring theatre company based in Los Angeles. This summer, the company will take a group of Muhlenberg students and recent alums to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, to perform Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. The show ran ten performances, Aug. 5-13.
“Working with this group has been an amazing and deeply collaborative experience, which is certainly reflected in the ensemble work we get to do onstage each night,” McGrath says.
The company rehearsed the show this spring, and performed an earlier version of it on campus in April. LATI will return to Fringe next year with multiple shows, including a second production of Too Much Light from Northwestern University. McGrath says she hopes to put together more Muhlenberg projects very soon.
“This opportunity has opened up a lot of doors in making connections, seeing theatre and gaining artistic experiences,” says Jill Smith ’22, a cast member and recent theatre alum.
The production featured the following Muhlenberg students and alumni:
