Assistant Director of Experiential Learning

Abby Martin joined the Muhlenberg College Career team in May 2024 as the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning. She holds both a Master of Arts in Education with a Certificate in ESOL and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Cedar Crest College. Abby's role focuses on coordinating externships/internships, supporting students through networking events/education/one on one meetings, and fostering strong alumni-student relationships. An educator at heart, she is passionate about student development and thrives on helping students gain hands-on experiences that prepare them for successful careers.
Throughout her career, Abby has spearheaded multiple initiatives aimed at promoting student success and inclusion. Abby is deeply committed to creating inclusive learning environments, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. She holds several professional certifications in DEI Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and Mindfulness, which shape her student-centered approach. Her graduate capstone, "Imposter Syndrome in Graduate Students," demonstrated her research skills and deep understanding of the challenges faced by students, particularly students of color. She has been honored with awards such as the Virginia M. Mihalik Prize and the Edward B. Deery Award for her contributions to the field.
Born and raised in Lancaster, PA, Abby grew up with her mom and siblings, proudly filling the role of middle child. When she's not busy managing her professional responsibilities, she enjoys napping, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her loved ones. Abby is also a cat mom to her 1-year-old sweet baby, Tinsel. Abby is always eager to connect with everyone. She warmly invites you to stop by her office for a chat, whether it’s about career advice or life in general. Her space is filled with snacks, stickers, and positive affirmations, reflecting her approachable and welcoming personality.
