Washington Monthly ranked Muhlenberg #48 out of 199 liberal arts colleges in the nation on its 2023 list. The ratings are calculated, per the publication’s website, “based on [each institution’s] contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research and providing opportunities for public service.”

Muhlenberg was the ninth best liberal arts college in Pennsylvania, according to the rankings. The College also ranked #16 among U.S. liberal arts colleges for earnings performance and #36 for social mobility.

The College was ranked #81 out of 388 institutions in the Northeast on Washington Monthly’s 2023 Best Bang for the Buck Rankings. This list ranks schools “according to how well they help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.” Muhlenberg was recently named an American Talent Initiative High-Flier, a group of 28 high-graduation-rate institutions nationwide named as leaders in college access and success for lower-income students.
