Muhlenberg welcomed its 176th class as well as new transfer students with a weekend’s worth of fun activities and time-honored traditions. The Class of 2027 began moving in on Thursday, August 24, with returning students and staff and faculty helpers easing the process.

On move-in day, 429 first-year students and 20 transfer students came to campus from 25 states and three countries. The Class of 2027 includes 26 percent domestic students of color, 18 percent first-generation students and 22 percent Pell-grant eligible students, which exceeds Muhlenberg’s American Talent Initiative commitment of 20 percent in incoming classes.

Orientation Weekend activities, as always, included the matriculation ledger signing, the candle-lighting ceremony and the scarving of new students. Following those events was a late-night celebration in the Life Sports Center with roller skating, laser tag, an inflatable obstacle course and more. On Sunday, August 27, the College community gathered for Opening Convocation followed by a welcome-back picnic.

Welcome home, new Mules — we’re so glad you’re here.
