Plant Operations

The Plant Operations Department at Muhlenberg College is a team of employees who are responsible for managing and maintaining the buildings, grounds, and residence halls of Muhlenberg College. Our staff of skilled trades people, groundskeepers, and custodians take great pride in supporting the mission of Muhlenberg College. The scope of responsibility includes everything from planned equipment maintenance to HVAC work, mowing of the lawns, managing snow and ice, cleaning, and office moves. We work with students, faculty, and staff to provide changes to the physical structure of the buildings, parking lots, roadways, and campus grounds.

Plant Operations is responsible for the College’s facilities. It is important that Plant Operations be involved in the planning of, and execution of any changes, additions, etc. of college buildings, housing, land, etc.   

Muhlenberg College and Plant Operations have policies and procedures in place to guide and insure that work completed on our properties is done correctly and legally. Regardless of whether the Department renders service or not, the Plant operations management must be informed of all planned work prior to implementation.

All connections to campus utility systems (electrical, water, sewer, gas, storm water) either in or outside a building shall be performed by the Department of Plant Operations personnel or by licensed professionals under the direction of the Department.
