Virtual Family Weekend
Welcome Students and Families!
We are excited to invite you to attend our Virtual Family Weekend 2020 from Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 8.
Although we can't be together on-campus this year, we hope this annual fall tradition will give students, families and guests the opportunity to connect in a virtual space.
We encourage families to register for Family Weekend to let us know that you plan to attend. As a thank you for participating, we will mail all registered families a special Muhlenberg Family gift!
Below you will find our event schedule. Connection links to all virtual events can be found here. Some events require pre-registration, so please read the descriptions below. Please note - all times listed are in Eastern Standard Time.

Friday, November 6
Family Weekend Virtual 5K
Grab your running shoes and join Muhlenberg College Athletics for a virtual 5k! Prizes will be awarded for the following categories: Fastest Time (1st, 2nd, 3rd), Slowest Time, Most School Spirit, Coolest Running View, and Run Furthest from Muhlenberg.
Follow the following steps to participate in the 5k:
- 1) Download the Strava App on your mobile phone (or head to strava.com)
- 2) Sign in or create an account
- 3) Join our Muhlenberg College Family Weekend 5k Club by clicking here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/766893
- 4) Complete your 5k, track and post to your public Strava account anytime from Friday, November 6 at 12pm - Sunday, November 8 at 5pm
- 5) Post to instagram using the hashtag #muhlenbergfamily and to strava with the caption "Muhlenberg Family Weekend 5k" to be entered to win prizes. Post by Sunday at 5:00 p.m. to eligible to win!

1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Admissions Siblings Program: How to Navigate Your Virtual College Search
Prospective siblings are welcome to join our Admissions Team for a discussion on how to navigate your virtual college search.

2:00 p.m. #MulesAtHome
This is a weekly program for our remote students to connect with the Dean of Students and the Student Government Association. We welcome parents and family members to join this week’s open session to meet and chat with the Dean Gulati and the leaders of our Student Government Association.
3:00 p.m. Good vs. Bad stress and Coping Strategies
Differentiating between good and bad stress, what to look for in your students and coping strategies for stress management. Join Tim Silvestri, PHD, Director of Counseling Services, for an informative conversation.
4:00 p.m. Career Center Overview: Resources & COVID-19 Adjustments
Join the Career Center staff to learn more about the services and resources we provide students and how we've adjusted our delivery in light of the pandemic.

7:00 p.m. Student Performance Group Showcase
Check out a selection of our wonderfully talented student performance organizations! We will be featuring Innachord (A Capella), Pep-Band, and the Perkulators (Dance). Watch here.
8:00 p.m. WMUH's 2nd Annual Radio Riff-Off
Our contestants are competing for a marketing and recording package with the music entertainment group, Sloppy Vinyl. Also, a Muhlenberg alum in the music industry, Oshane Kirlew '17, will be guiding our winners in pursuing the next steps to their career in music. And you get to watch a lineup of seven student artists battle each other for the prize!
The event is free to watch. Our co-directors, Michelle Rajan '21 and Sydney Holliday '23, will be the hosts throughout the event so you can look forward to seven talented performers and some great entertainment from our co-hosts. Also! You get to vote for the fan favorite! Whoever wins the fan favorite vote will get an encore performance while the judges deliberate.

National First Generation Student Celebration Day Event: Hear from students, President Harring, a special guest speaker, and have a chance to meet one another as we celebrate first-generation students on National First-Generation Celebration Day!
3:00 p.m. OML Virtual Pride Event
Our special guest, Lady Dane Figueroa Edid is a playwright, choreographer, performer, writer, and trans activist. Dubbed the Ancient Jazz Priestess of Mother Africa, Lady Dane Figueroa Edidi is a Nigerian, Cuban, Indigenous, American performance artist, author, teacher, choreographer, priestess, speechwriter, playwright, writing coach, advocate, healer, a founding member of Force Collision, and a two-time Helen Hayes Award Nominee. She is the founder of The Inanna D Initiatives, which curates, produces and cultivates events and initiatives designed to center and celebrate the work of TGNC Artists of Color. Considered one of the most prolific artists of our time, she is the first trans woman of color to be nominated for a Helen Hayes Award. In 2015, she received an Emerging Leader Award for her work with the DC Trans Community and is the GLBT History Project’s 2018 recipient of the Mujeres en el Movimiento Arts Award. She has also co-starred as Patra in the new web series King Ester.
