LOOSE CONNECTIVE TISSUE: This type of connective tissue is found in the mesenteries of the digestive system. There are two types of fibers present: thin, straight elastic fibers (EF), and the ribbon-like, thick collagen fibers (CF). The cells that produce these extracellular fibers are connective tissue are fibroblasts (arrows) which have the paler nuclei.
