Indeed, there has been much to celebrate this past year. We are now officially in the public phase of Boundless: The Campaign for Muhlenberg, a comprehensive campaign designed to secure funding for institutional strategic priorities – endowed professorships, student financial aid, capital projects, The Muhlenberg Fund, integrative learning and high-impact practices and the Muhlenberg Network. As of June 30, 2022, the campaign total reached $82,497,938, which is 74% of the $111 million goal. The launch of the campaign in November 2021 coincided with the much anticipated inauguration of the College’s 13th President, Kathleen E. Harring.  

The exceptional progress we are seeing for Boundless and our annual fundraising is thanks to the generous philanthropic support of our donors. In terms of cash receipts, Fund Year 2021-2022 was an exceptional year for the College with gifts totaling $11,389,875. Our signature Mulementum and Mule Madness events contributed to this success as did our hundreds of volunteers. Another fantastic year for Mules!

In November, Muhlenberg community members gathered to witness a milestone in the construction of the new building on the south side of campus. The College has since unveiled the name of the Fahy Commons, made possible by the generosity of alumnus Gerry Fahy ’79 and his wife Cathy. In April, scholarship benefactors met with their student recipients at the 2022 Scholarship Reception. Amira Jackson ’24, scholarship recipient and recent winner of an anti-racism film festival competition, spoke at this event and shared her Muhlenberg experience. 

Additional highlights from the year can be seen at the top of the page and include: Bruce Bird ’77’s story on why he is providing scholarships for real-world learning; and how VentureWell provided a grant to develop a new entrepreneurship and sustainability program. 

During the time of the year where gratitude, generosity and appreciation matters most, I am most grateful for all of you. Thanks to you, the possibilities that lay ahead for Muhlenberg are truly boundless.
