The President's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Promise for Postgraduate Study

This award is given to sophomores and juniors who present outstanding applications drafted in consultation with a prestigious awards advisor designated by the College, and successfully complete an interview. The awards are intended to provide excellent students with an opportunity to prepare for competition for national and international awards including the Marshall, Fulbright, and National Science Foundation. One to three awards are granted each year.

Students may be from any major and must have a minimum 3.4 grade point average overall and in their major unless extraordinary circumstances are convincingly argued to the contrary. Students must work closely with the prestigious awards advisor designated by the College.

Timetable 2023

Beginning February 13

Review the list of national award applications eligible for this competition and contact the Associate Dean of Student Awards and Research to begin drafting your application with an advisor.

March 10

One copy of application materials due, via email, no later than 4:00 p.m. to Lori Flatto, administrative assistant to the Dean of Academic Life. Ms. Flatto will contact you via email to schedule your interview during the week of March 20.

March 20-22

Interview workshop (date to be determined)

March 22-25

Individual Interview with panel of prestigious awards advisors.
