Student Summer Plans

 

2013

Jarrett Felix (Math Major, '14) Columbia University Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (CSIBS) In this 6-week training module, participants will develop an analytic "tool box", including exposure to state-of-the-art design and analytic methods and training in the use of statistical software and complete in a mentored data analysis project using NHLBI datasets.

Jeremy Fus (Math Major, '15) will attend the pre-REU program Signal and Image Analysis as part of the Mentoring Through Critical Transition Points program at Texas A&M University. In this program, the basic ideas behind the use of Fourier analysis and wavelets in signal and image analysis will be introduced.

Bryan McComb (Math Major, '14) will attend the Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (SIBS) at the University of Minnesota. SIBS offers a comprehensive six to seven week summer training course on biostatistics with relevant examples that include data collected in studies of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders.

Elizabeth Averill Morash (CS Major, '14) has an internship with Google in New York City.

Christopher Zumberge (CS Major, '14) has an internship this summer at Computer Aid, Inc - a global IT services company headquartered in PA.

Samantha Langner (Math Major, '14) will be interning for Price Waterhouse Coopers in Assurance, specifically in the Private Company Services (PCS) Team.

Macauley Breault (Physical Science Major '15) will be researching the synthesis and characterization of porous bio glass material for the International Materials Institute for New Functionality in Glass at Lehigh University (IMI) for 10 weeks.
