Starting in early November and continuing through the rest of this academic year, the Theatre & Dance Department will partner with Professor Kaja Dunn, one the most important voices for racial equity in performing arts education in the US, to work with faculty, staff and students to further anti-racist practices in our department.

Mark your calendars
for Workshops & Listening Sessions
Thursday, Nov. 9

Professor Dunn will be at Muhlenberg for an introductory visit on Thursday, Nov. 9, to facilitate a series of workshops and listening sessions. Her subsequent work with the Department — which will be both on-campus and via Zoom — will continue into the spring semester.

Professor Dunn’s visits offer the opportunity to find each other in our anti-racism efforts to create a shared language and collective action. We hope you’ll consider this department-wide invitation to join together — students, faculty and staff — to enrich our practices under Professor Dunn’s guidance. This invitation is an effort to offer solutions in creating space for much needed anti-racist critical reflection and affirmation in the Department, while also welcoming new voices to the chorus. If you have specific questions, please feel free to reach out to any member of the Anti-Racist Action Plan Working Group.

Sincerely,
The Department of Theatre & Dance Anti-Racism Action Plan Working Group
