About the Senior Scholars Program

View Course Offerings *

* not all courses are available at any time for senior scholars to audit

Senior Scholars is an opportunity for local individuals aged 60 and older to audit up to two in-person courses per semester from a select list, with the instructor’s consent. Registration takes place through the Registrar’s Office in the week before classes begin each semester. A special per-course charge is required. A grade of “Audit” is assigned if completed successfully; no traditional grades are used.

  • Typically, no more than 2 Senior Scholars will be enrolled in any one course each semester;
  • Senior Scholars may elect to register for up to two courses each semester.
  • If, after an initial conversation between the instructor and the Senior Scholar, it is determined that the Senior Scholar cannot or chooses not to meet the necessary requirements to audit the course, the instructor will notify the registrar to remove the Senior Scholar from the roster.

The Student Accounts Office has recently transitioned to new student software systems called Workday and Nelnet Enterprise. Accordingly, we are providing some information intended to give you a better understanding of these new processes.

The College no longer mails student invoices home to families. In an effort to make available the most current financial information possible, the tuition must be obtained by the student and/or authorized payers through the student software system the date following the last change in registration. By using the Nelnet Enterprise platform, students and their authorized payers are able to obtain their tuition statements, make payments, and enroll in a payment plan at their convenience, with 24/7 access.

To gain access to Nelnet Enterprise: As this is the student’s account, the student must be the person to initiate the processes for using the Nelnet Enterprise Platform. If anyone other than the student wants to obtain a tuition statement, make any payments or enroll in a plan, that person(s) must be setup as an Authorized Payer. To accomplish this, the students first must:

  1. Log into the Application Portal using OneLogin
  2. Click the Nelnet Campus Commerce tile
  3. Go to My Profile in the Nelnet account
  4. Click the Add Authorized Payer link
  5. Enter the information and create an Authentication Question.
  6. An email will be sent to the parent/3rd party to create their account.

To access as an Authorized Account: Authorized payers should visit the “Tuition and Plan Payment Options” webpage to access the “Make a Payment/Enroll in a Plan” link and enter the appropriate contact and payment information when applicable.

To obtain a tuition statement: Once signed in to the portal, both students and Authorized Payers, go to the Payment Activity section of the My Profile page, click on the “Transaction Details” link to the right of the Current Balance. This will provide the transaction details in the student account. An “invoice” may be printed by clicking the printer option in the upper-right corner of the page, which can be used for your records or submission to a third-party who may be providing a payment.

To make a payment: For your convenience, a “Make A Payment” link is also available on the “Transaction Details” site, as well as the My Profile page. It is recommended to have your payment information available when enrolling in a plan.

The payments may be made by a debit or credit card (with a convenience fee), or directly from a checking or savings account at no cost.
