Wanyi earned her B.S in Medicine from Hunan Normal University in China and studied neuroscience at University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. She completed two years medical practicum and internship at Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, and 6 months training in Psychiatry. She is currently pursuing Master of Education degree in Counseling and Human Services at Lehigh University.
Wanyi's approach to counseling is influenced by Emotionally Focused, Feminist, and Psychodynamic therapeutic perspectives, based on the foundation of Human-centered therapy. She also combines Goodman Method, Internal Family System ideas and strategies in her practice. She is passionate about attachment, intimate relationships, self-love, depression, radical compassion, and empowering marginalized individuals. Her wish to every human being: “May you love and accept yourself just as you are.”
